The “Notte della Taranta” arrives in Lecce on the eve of Ferragosto. This evening the traveling festival will open at 7.00 pm at the Bernardini Library of Convitto Palmieri with two exhibitions. Of these, one is the traveling exhibition dedicated to the research in Salento of the anthropologist Ernesto De Martino, who began his studies on tarantism. The other one was promoted by the Convitto Palmeri and is titled “Dancing Maenads”. The object of the exhibition are ancient Greek pageants with images related to music. Starting at 9.00 pm, the Notte della Taranta ballet will invade the historic center, starting from Porta Rudiae. He will stop in some squares of Lecce, to then arrive near Piazza Duomo.
